National Night Out (NNO) is held annually on the first Tuesday in August. The NNO Campaign is comprised of citizens, law enforcement agencies, civic groups, businesses, neighborhood organizations and local officials from over 9,700 communities from all 50 states, U.S. Territories, Canadian cities and military bases worldwide.
The intent is to enhance the relationships between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a sense of community. It promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer and more caring places to live.
Help one another. Stand together. Keep each other safe!
With the increasing tension rising across the nation, the need for neighborhoods and communities to become more inclusive and integrate with one another has never been timelier.
Fittingly, the National Night Out is the quintessence of community get together and team spirit which has been on for quite some time. What we advocate for is quite simple – a safer community for all through inclusiveness of all stakeholders in the community.
National Night Out is an annual community building event with the aim to promote police-community partnerships and relations. A national program, this novel movement will be having its debut in Fitchburg.
